Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,792 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,792 m of the 2,644 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 383 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport, taking 13 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 17R, with a takeoff distance of 1,345 meters, which was 33% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 155 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 14°C temperature and a wind speed of 19 knots at 160 degrees. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 18 knots. The aircraft climbed from 1,851 feet above sea level to 36,649 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,798 feet, in 23 minutes and covering a distance of 143 nautical miles.
The enroute climb started over the Colombier-Saugnieu area in France, and the aircraft continued to climb until it reached its cruising altitude. The enroute level cruise started over the Tourves area in France and lasted for 46 minutes, covering a distance of 351 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 52 miles south of Villasimius in Italy, and descended from 36,870 feet above sea level to 3,393 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,477 feet, in 18 minutes and covering a distance of 101 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 4 miles northwest of Mennzel Bou Zelfa in Tunisia, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. The final descent started 5 miles northeast of Hammam-Lif in Tunisia, and the aircraft descended from 2,896 feet above sea level to 1,299 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,596 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 29 at Tunis Carthage International Airport was made from the east, heading 293.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,273 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 29, which had a length of 2,644 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 135 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 382 meters, and the touchdown speed was 128 knots, which was also good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -282 feet per minute.
The total landing distance was 1,710 meters, which was 65% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 614 nautical miles, taking 108 minutes, and the aircraft used 4,160 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at DTTA Tunis Carthage International Airport, achieving a high score of 99.3%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 293.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,273 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot's final approach was well-executed, with a good threshold height and speed of 135 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown distance of 382 meters, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown speed of 128 knots was also satisfactory, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. However, the touchdown rate of -282 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have touched down slightly harder than desired.
Despite this minor issue, the overall landing performance was impressive. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at touchdown. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 16°C and a gentle wind of 5 knots at 170°, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,710 meters, which accounts for 65% of the runway length, was also within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft maintained a stable and controlled alignment with the runway centerline during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
