MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,223 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 128 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KCAK Akron Canton Regional Airport. This process took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 19, and the takeoff distance was 1,029 meters, which accounted for 48% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 144 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb overhead KCAK Akron Canton Regional Airport, rising from an altitude of 2,221 feet above sea level to 13,312 feet above sea level, an increase of 11,091 feet in just 4 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 12 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise began 1 mile southwest of Doylestown, Ohio, and lasted for 13 minutes, covering a distance of 71 nautical miles.
The aircraft then started its enroute descent 3 miles west of Fremont, Ohio, and descended from 13,266 feet above sea level to 4,001 feet above sea level, a decrease of 9,266 feet in 11 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 42 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed 2 miles south of Wauseon, Ohio, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final descent 3 miles east of Wauseon Airport, descending from 3,478 feet above sea level to 2,051 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,427 feet in 2 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 07 at KTOL Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport was made from the southwest, with the aircraft heading 67.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,369 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The aircraft landed on runway 07, which had a length of 3,223 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 124 knots. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 124 knots, and the touchdown rate was hard at -451 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.3 meters. The local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of -1 degree Celsius, a wind speed of 7 knots at 150 degrees, a crosswind of 7 knots, and a headwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,397 meters, which accounted for 43% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centerline by 10.4 meters. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 142 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 41 minutes. The aircraft used 1,570 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at KTOL Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport, achieving a score of 93.5%. The final approach to runway 07 was initiated from the southwest, heading 67.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,369 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a threshold speed of 124 knots, which was considered good. However, the touchdown speed of 124 knots was slightly faster than ideal, resulting in a hard touchdown rate of -451 feet per minute. The touchdown distance of 128 meters was also considered good.
Upon landing, the aircraft's runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 5.3 meters. This misalignment was also observed during the runway rollout alignment, where the aircraft was 10.4 meters off-centreline. Despite these minor deviations, the total landing distance of 1,397 meters was only 43% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -1°C and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 150°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the aircraft's landing performance. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good threshold speed and touchdown distance, despite some minor deviations from the ideal touchdown position and rollout alignment.
