Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 587 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 587 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 43 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking to the runway at LIPA Aviano Air Base, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 05, with a takeoff distance of 517 meters, which was 20% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 105 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 19 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 70 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 3 knots. The aircraft then took off and began its enroute climb, which started overhead LIPA Aviano Air Base. The climb took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 36 nautical miles, with an increase in altitude from 1,428 feet to 20,048 feet.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 1 mile south of Loria Bessica. This phase of the flight lasted for 23 minutes and covered a distance of 112 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started overhead Lezzeno. The descent took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 34 nautical miles, with a decrease in altitude from 19,793 feet to 11,219 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 4 miles north of Toceno. This phase of the flight lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started 2 miles northwest of Premia. The descent took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 16 nautical miles, with a decrease in altitude from 11,087 feet to 2,756 feet.
The final approach to runway 28 at LSTA Raron Airfield was made from the east, with a heading of 278.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 660 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 28, which had a length of 587 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was too high at 90 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 41 meters, but the touchdown speed was too fast at 88 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -354 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 360 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 0 knots. The total landing distance was 268 meters, which was 46% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.5 meters from the centerline. The aircraft then taxied to the parking from the runway, which took less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 212 nautical miles, which was covered in 63 minutes. The aircraft used 14 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet successfully landed at LSTA Raron Airfield, achieving a score of 91.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 278.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 660 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was executed on runway 28, which has a length of 587 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, but the threshold speed was too high at 90 knots. This indicates that the pilot may have been able to slow down more efficiently before touchdown. The touchdown distance was good, measuring 41 meters, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
However, the touchdown speed was too fast at 88 knots, which may have contributed to the firm touchdown rate of -354 feet per minute (fpm). A firmer touchdown rate can be a concern, as it may indicate that the aircraft is touching down with too much force, potentially causing damage to the landing gear or other components.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot successfully aligned the aircraft with the runway centerline. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from 360°, resulting in a negligible crosswind component.
The total landing distance was 268 meters, which is 46% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot executed the landing smoothly and efficiently. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.5 meters from the centerline, which may be a concern for future landings.
Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at LSTA Raron Airfield was successful, with a high score and a short landing distance. However, there are areas for improvement, such as reducing the threshold speed and touchdown speed, and maintaining a more consistent rollout alignment.
