Avoid steep turns at low altitude
Below a thousand feet the aeroplane is slow, heavy and close to the ground. A steep turn loses lift, raises the stall speed and flattens the climb just when the gradient matters most. A normal turn on course is a rate one — fifteen degrees or so, twenty-five at the outside, this penalty is to acknowledge when a turn has stopped being a turn and become a manoeuvre.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,634 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 556 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Congratulations on an exceptional aircraft landing score of 98.3%! Your performance during each phase of the landing process was truly commendable.
During the Approach Phase, your excellent glideslope alignment and slightly below target speed set a solid foundation for a successful landing. This careful attention to detail ensured a smooth transition into the Landing Phase.
In the Landing Phase, you exhibited exceptional skill with a good threshold height and a perfect landing flare. These critical elements contributed to a precise and controlled touchdown.
Although the Touchdown Phase had a fair touchdown rate, you managed to maintain the target speed and touch down just beyond the touchdown zone. Your runway touchdown position was very good, despite having to contend with an 11 kn crosswind – a remarkable feat!
As you entered the Rollout Phase, your impeccable runway alignment demonstrated your ability to handle the aircraft with precision and confidence. Your focused approach and meticulous execution throughout the landing process truly paid off.
Overall, your outstanding performance showcases your dedication to excellence and your proficiency as a pilot. Keep up the exceptional work, and continue to strive for perfection in every aspect of your aviation endeavors. Well done!
