MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,161 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,161 m of the 3,520 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 608 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 07 at Juan Santamaría International Airport (MROC) in a duration of 5 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 07, the take-off run was 1,588 m, representing 53 % of the available runway length, and the aircraft lifted off at 149 kt. Ambient conditions were 24 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 359°, a cross-wind component of 1 kt and no head-wind.
Climb commenced 2 mi east of Alajuela, rising from 4,132 ft asl to 34,989 ft asl, an altitude gain of 30,857 ft achieved in 30 minutes while covering 228 nm.
Cruise began 2 mi south-west of Coclé del Norte, lasting 34 minutes and extending over 276 nm at the assigned cruising altitude.
Descent was initiated 20 mi east of Vigía del Fuerte, descending from 34,950 ft asl to 8,258 ft asl, a loss of 26,692 ft in 17 minutes and traversing 99 nm.
The final approach to runway 01 at José María Córdova International Airport (SKRG) was flown from the south on a heading of 360.0°, intercepting the final approach fix at 4 nm and 1,249 ft agl.
Landing on runway 01 was executed with a threshold speed of 143 kt; touchdown occurred 184 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 136 kt and a vertical rate of minus 167 fpm. The touchdown point was offset by 3.6 m from the centreline. Local weather reported 14 °C, wind 1 kt from 0°, with no cross-wind and a 1 kt head-wind.
Runway rollout covered a distance of 2,073 m, equivalent to 59 % of the runway length, and alignment during rollout was described as very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 1 minute, traveling less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 612 nm, required 90 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 4,641 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 established a final approach to runway 01 at SKRG Jose Maria Córdova International Airport from the south, maintaining a heading of 360.0° at 4 nm and 1,249 ft AGL. Ambient temperature was 14 °C with wind 1 kt from 0°, resulting in a headwind component of 1 kt and no crosswind.
Threshold height was reported as good and the threshold speed was good at 143 kt, indicating an appropriate energy state for the flare.
Touchdown occurred 184 m beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 136 kt judged good and a touchdown rate of minus 167 fpm also good. The aircraft’s touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.6 m from the centreline, and the total landing distance measured 2,073 m, representing 59 % of the 3,509 m runway length.
Runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft remained on the centreline throughout the deceleration phase.
With a final score of 96.0 %, the landing was strong; concentrate on reducing the 184 m overshoot of the touchdown zone and tightening the 3.6 m lateral deviation to further improve precision.
