Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,019 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,636 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 20C at KBNA Nashville International Airport. The takeoff distance was 4,417 feet, which accounted for 55% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 147 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 64°F, a wind speed of 1 knot at 270°, and a crosswind of 1 knot. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south of KBNA Nashville International Airport and ascending from 1,550 feet above sea level to 37,071 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,521 feet in 20 minutes and covering a distance of 132 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles southwest of Locust Fork, Alabama, and lasted 11 minutes, covering a distance of 87 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 2 miles north of KMXF Maxwell Air Force Base Montgomery, Alabama, and descending from 37,130 feet above sea level to 4,006 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,124 feet in 21 minutes and covering a distance of 133 nautical miles.
The aircraft entered another level cruise phase, which started 4 miles southwest of Youngstown, Florida, and lasted 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The descent phase was initiated again, this time starting 5 miles northeast of Callaway, Florida, and descending from 3,985 feet above sea level to 3,435 feet above sea level, a decrease of 550 feet in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The aircraft entered yet another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile northwest of Callaway, Florida, and lasted 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. The descent phase was initiated once more, this time starting overhead Pretty Bayou, Florida, and descending from 2,847 feet above sea level to 1,348 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,499 feet in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34 at KECP Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport was initiated from the south, with the aircraft heading 339.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,266 feet above ground level. The landing was executed on runway 34, which had a length of 10,019 feet. The threshold height was well above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 146 knots.
The touchdown point was 1,267 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 136 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -240 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 46°F.
The total landing distance was 4,356 feet, which accounted for 43% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 384 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 73 minutes. The aircraft used 6,891 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at KECP Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, with a score of 87.3%. The final approach to runway 34 was initiated from the south, heading 339.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,266 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 1,267 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is slightly outside the target area. The touchdown speed of 136 knots was a bit faster than the target speed, indicating that the pilot may have needed to apply more braking force to bring the aircraft to a stop. However, the touchdown rate of -240 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the pilot was able to manage the descent effectively.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained a stable and aligned approach to the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 46°F, which may have affected the aircraft's performance.
The total landing distance of 4,356 feet was 43% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and bring it to a stop safely.
Overall, while there were some minor deviations from the target parameters, the pilot's performance was considered good, and the landing was successful. However, there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown speed and distance from the touchdown zone.
