Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,595 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 161 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a short taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took approximately 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 08 at UASS Semey Airport in East Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan. The takeoff distance was 624 meters, which accounted for 23% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 129 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of -21°C, with no wind at 160 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead UASS Semey Airport. The climb took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 28 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,699 feet above sea level to 29,125 feet above sea level, an increase of 27,426 feet. The enroute level cruise then began 18 miles southeast of UAKV Dolon Air Base Kurchatov, and lasted for 18 minutes, covering a distance of 146 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 2 miles west of Kyzyltu, and took 18 minutes to descend from 28,734 feet above sea level to 3,823 feet above sea level, a decrease of 24,911 feet. The descent covered a distance of 104 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute level cruise, this time starting 12 miles southeast of UAAQ Karaganda Southwest Airport Aqtas, and lasted for 9 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 05 at UAKK Sary-Arka Airport was made from the southwest, heading 59.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,276 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 162 meters, which was 32% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was 85 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -326 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -6°C, with a wind of 10 knots at 70 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 10 knots. The total landing distance was 1,154 meters, and the total flight distance was 295 nautical miles, taking a total of 61 minutes. The aircraft used 609 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation successfully landed at UAKK Sary-Arka Airport, achieving a high score of 97.3%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 59.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot demonstrated excellent control and precision during the final approach, setting up for a smooth touchdown on runway 05.
The runway at UAKK Sary-Arka Airport is 3,595 meters long, providing ample space for the CJ4 Citation to land safely. The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. The threshold speed of 90 knots was also well within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed effectively.
Upon touchdown, the CJ4 Citation performed well, with a touchdown distance of 162 meters and a speed of 85 knots. The touchdown rate of -326 feet per minute (fpm) was firm but not excessive, indicating a controlled and stable descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot had maintained a consistent and accurate course throughout the approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -6°C and a wind speed of 10 knots from a direction of 70°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 10 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the approach. The total landing distance of 1,154 meters was only 32% of the runway length, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed and distance effectively.
During the rollout, the CJ4 Citation maintained a very good alignment with the runway, indicating that the pilot had maintained control and stability throughout the landing process. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control throughout the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
