MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,723 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,723 m of the 3,894 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 460 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Innsbruck Airport, taking 5 minutes and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 08, with the aircraft taking off after covering 54% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 1,029 meters, and the liftoff speed was 147 knots.
As the aircraft departed, it encountered local weather conditions of 20°C temperature and a wind speed of 11 knots at 70 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 11 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Innsbruck and ascending from 2,889 feet above sea level to 30,585 feet above sea level, an increase of 27,696 feet in 20 minutes and covering 93 nautical miles.
The enroute climb was followed by a level cruise, which started 1 mile south west of Thiene, Italy, and lasted for 16 minutes, covering 123 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 1 mile south west of Chitignano, Italy, and descending from 30,588 feet above sea level to 4,028 feet above sea level, a decrease of 26,561 feet in 21 minutes and covering 122 nautical miles.
The descent was followed by another level cruise, which started 1 mile south west of Pomezia, Italy, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 3 miles south of Torvaianica, Italy, and descending from 3,909 feet above sea level to 1,257 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,652 feet in 5 minutes and covering 13 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34R at Rome–Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International Airport took place from the south, with the aircraft heading 342.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,232 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 34R, which was 3,894 meters long. The threshold height was slightly above target, but the threshold speed was good at 140 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 460 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 138 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -365 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.2 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 17°C temperature and a wind speed of 5 knots at 310 degrees, with a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,642 meters, which was 42% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then began its taxiing to the parking area, taking 11 minutes and covering 2 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 366 nautical miles, taking 81 minutes, and the aircraft used 4,008 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed on runway 34R at LIRF Rome–Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, achieving a score of 95.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 342.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,232 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 138 knots, which was slightly above the target speed of 140 knots. However, the touchdown distance of 460 meters was within the acceptable range. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.2 meters from the centerline, but this did not significantly impact the overall landing performance.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 17°C and a gentle wind of 5 knots at 310°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the landing.
The aircraft's rollout alignment after touchdown was excellent, indicating good control and stability during the landing phase. The total landing distance of 1,642 meters was 42% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft demonstrating good control and stability throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
