Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 4,001 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 564 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 05R at Benito Juárez International Airport (MMMX) in Ciudad de México, Mexico. The takeoff distance was 174 meters, which accounted for 5% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 14 knots at a direction of 20 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 11 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile northeast of the airport, rising from an altitude of 8,302 feet above sea level to 36,026 feet above sea level, an increase of 27,724 feet, in 18 minutes and covering a distance of 127 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 5 miles north of Misantla, Mexico, and lasted for 31 minutes, covering a distance of 647 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 68 miles west of Las Clavellinas Airport in Cuba, descending from 35,772 feet above sea level to 1,460 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,313 feet, in 30 minutes and covering a distance of 172 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 06 at José Martí International Airport (MUHA) was made from the southwest, heading 54.0 degrees at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,240 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 06 was successful, with a touchdown point 144 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 132 knots, which was considered good, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -108 feet per minute.
However, the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 15.3 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were similar to those at the time of departure, with a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 14 knots at a direction of 20 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 8 knots and a headwind of 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,301 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 15.3 meters from the centerline.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 954 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 97 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 5,315 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at MUHA José Martí International Airport, achieving a score of 91.2%. The final approach to runway 06 was initiated from the southwest, heading 54.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,240 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being slightly above the target at 58 feet agl. However, the threshold speed was satisfactory at 137 knots. The touchdown point was located 144 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was good at 132 knots. The touchdown rate was also smooth, with a descent rate of -108 feet per minute (fpm).
Despite the successful touchdown, the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 15.3 meters from the centerline. This misalignment was also observed during the runway rollout alignment, indicating a deviation from the intended path. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 25°C, with a wind speed of 14 knots at a direction of 20°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,301 meters, which accounted for approximately 33% of the runway length. The runway length at MUHA José Martí International Airport is 4,001 meters. Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some deviations from the intended path, which may require attention to improve the aircraft's alignment and control during landing.
