Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,947 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,947 m of the 2,964 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 851 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 26L at OJAI Queen Alia International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,516 meters, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 154 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 9 knots at a direction of 310 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 6 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Al Jizah in the Amman Governorate of Jordan. The climb took 32 minutes and covered a distance of 166 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 3,313 feet above sea level to 31,305 feet above sea level, an increase of 27,992 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 46 miles northwest of Beirut in Lebanon. This phase lasted for 89 minutes and covered a distance of 680 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 7 miles west of Strymoniko in Central Macedonia, Greece. The descent took 17 minutes and covered a distance of 85 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 32,026 feet above sea level to 2,270 feet above sea level, a decrease of 29,756 feet.
The final approach to runway 34 at LWSK Skopje International Airport was made from the south, with a heading of 345.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,479 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 34, which had a length of 2,964 meters. The threshold height at 101 feet above ground level was excessively over target, but the threshold speed was good at 145 knots. The touchdown point was 443 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 138 knots. However, the touchdown rate was good at -196 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 2 knots at a direction of 210 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 1 knot. The total landing distance was 1,874 meters, which accounted for 63% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 941 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 150 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 7,404 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at LWSK Skopje International Airport, with a score of 83.9%. The final approach to runway 34 was initiated from the south, heading 345.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,479 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with a touchdown speed of 138 kt, which was slightly above the target speed. However, the touchdown rate of -196 feet per minute (fpm) was within the acceptable range. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 24°C and a wind speed of 2 kt from 210°. The crosswind and tailwind components were minimal, at 1 kt each, which did not significantly impact the landing.
The touchdown point was located 443 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively significant deviation. However, the total landing distance of 1,874 meters was only 63% of the available runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance.
The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the rollout phase. Overall, while there were some minor deviations from the target parameters, the landing was considered successful, with a score of 83.9%.
