MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,913 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,913 m of the 3,885 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 599 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight on the Boeing 777-300 began at RCKH Kaohsiung Intl in Taiwan. The distance from parking to the runway was 2 nm, with a duration of 12 minutes. The departure roll took place on runway 09, with a takeoff distance of 1,483 m, covering 58% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 178 knots. The local weather at the time of departure was 26 °C, with wind at 42 knots coming from 119° resulting in a crosswind of 20 knots and a headwind of 37 knots.
The enroute climb started 1 mile east of RCKH Kaohsiung Intl and took the aircraft from 1,082 ft above sea level to 35,261 ft above sea level, covering a total vertical distance of 34,178 ft. This portion of the flight lasted 22 minutes and covered a distance of 126 nm.
The level cruise phase of the flight began 70 miles west of Basco in the Philippines and lasted 475 minutes, covering a distance of 3,594 nm.
The enroute descent began 4 miles west of YSCO Scone in Australia, descending from 33,996 ft above sea level to 4,263 ft above sea level, a decrease of 29,733 ft. This phase of the flight lasted 15 minutes and covered a distance of 94 nm.
A brief segment of level cruise occurred 3 miles northeast of Arcadia in Australia, lasting 2 minutes and covering a distance of 9 nm.
The final descent began overhead Turramurra in Australia, descending from 3,703 ft above sea level to 1,923 ft above sea level, a decrease of 1,780 ft. This phase of the flight lasted 2 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nm.
The landing took place on runway 16R at YSSY Kingsford Smith Intl in Sydney, Australia, with a runway length of 3,885 m. The height at the threshold was 49 ft above ground level, and the speed at the threshold was 146 knots. The touchdown occurred 601 m from the threshold, with a touchdown speed of 138 knots and a Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI) of -247 ft/min. The local weather at the time of landing was 22 °C, with wind at 7 knots coming from 50°, resulting in a crosswind of 6 knots and a tailwind of 3 knots. The total landing distance covered was 1,836 m, which was 47% of the runway length.
The distance from the runway to the parking area was 1 nm, with a duration of 4 minutes.
Overall, the total flight distance covered was 3,840 nm over a duration of 542 minutes. The flight used 66,178 kg of fuel.
Congratulations on achieving a impressive aircraft landing score of 98.1%! Your careful and precise execution during each phase of the landing contributed to this outstanding result.
During the Approach Phase, your glideslope alignment was excellent, which contributed to a smooth and controlled descent towards the runway. This enabled a seamless transition into the Landing Phase, where you demonstrated good threshold height and a very good landing flare. These actions helped ensure a stable approach and set the stage for a successful touchdown.
In the Touchdown Phase, while the touchdown rate was fair, your speed was on target and you managed to touch down in a safe manner. Although the touchdown point was slightly beyond the designated zone, the overall runway touchdown position was deemed very good. However, it is worth noting that landing with a 3-knot tailwind is less than ideal and should be avoided whenever possible.
As you entered the Rollout Phase, your runway alignment was noted to be very good, indicating a controlled and straight rollout after touchdown. This attention to detail ensures a safe and efficient exit from the runway.
Overall, your proficiency during each phase of the landing contributed to the high score achieved. Keep up the good work and continue to focus on maintaining precision and safety during future landings. Your dedication to improving your skills is evident, and it is paying off with impressive results like this. Well done!
