MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,597 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,597 m of the 3,345 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 716 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking to the runway at Keflavik International Airport, which took 6 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 19, with a takeoff distance of 1,306 meters, which was 43% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 154 knots, and the local weather conditions were a temperature of 11°C, with a wind of 10 knots at 180°.
As the aircraft climbed out of Keflavik, it reached an altitude of 27,490 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,348 feet from the initial altitude of 1,142 feet. This climb took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 68 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise, which lasted for 3 minutes and covered 22 nautical miles, before starting another climb from 28,569 feet to 34,978 feet, an increase of 6,409 feet, in 7 minutes and covering 51 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which lasted for 100 minutes and covered 762 nautical miles, before starting a descent from 36,743 feet to 13,968 feet, a decrease of 22,775 feet, in 11 minutes and covering 76 nautical miles. The aircraft then climbed from 13,815 feet to 14,643 feet, an increase of 828 feet, in 2 minutes and covering 8 nautical miles, before starting another descent from 14,546 feet to 6,835 feet, a decrease of 7,710 feet, in 5 minutes and covering 22 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered 7 nautical miles, before starting a descent from 6,813 feet to 1,870 feet, a decrease of 4,943 feet, in 7 minutes and covering 9 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 27L at London Heathrow Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 270°, at 3 nautical miles and 1,773 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 27L was successful, with a touchdown point 270 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 131 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -135 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions were a temperature of 13°C, with a wind of 4 knots at 189°.
The total landing distance was 1,487 meters, which was 44% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,030 nautical miles, which was completed in 164 minutes, and the aircraft used 5,750 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A32NX aircraft successfully landed on runway 27L at EGLL London Heathrow Airport, achieving a score of 87.5%. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,773 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft successfully touched down on the runway, with a touchdown speed of 131 knots, which was within the acceptable range.
The threshold height at 69 feet agl was above the target, indicating that the aircraft was slightly higher than desired at the point of touchdown. However, the threshold speed of 142 knots was good, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing. The touchdown point was 270 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation.
The landing distance of 1,487 meters was 44% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's weight and the wind conditions. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from 189°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. These conditions were likely taken into account by the pilots during the approach and landing phases.
Overall, the landing was successful, with a smooth touchdown rate of -135 feet per minute. However, the slightly misaligned runway touchdown position and the above-target threshold height are areas for improvement.
