Get the gear down before the gate
Preparing for a stable approach will give you time to decide on whether to attempt the landing or going around. Too much altitude with a high sink rate will result in carrying too much speed onto the runway. Configuring flaps and the gear late also won't help the speed decay.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: gear still up and centreline 3.1° off, against a 1° limit.

Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,671 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 346 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from its parking position to runway 05R at KTYS McGhee Tyson Airport, a movement that required three minutes and covered two nautical miles.
During the departure roll on runway 05R, the Pilatus PC-12 accelerated through a takeoff distance of 1,205 m, representing 44 % of the available runway, and lifted off at 109 kt; ambient temperature was 18 °C with an 8 kt wind from 030°, including a 2 kt cross-wind component and an 8 kt head-wind.
The climb began one mile west of Rockford, Tennessee, where the aircraft rose from 1,955 ft ASL to 3,156 ft ASL, gaining 1,202 ft in one minute while traversing four nautical miles.
Level cruise commenced two miles east of TN-98 Sky Ranch Airport near Knoxville and was maintained for five minutes, during which the aircraft covered seventeen nautical miles.
Descent for the final approach was executed from 1,270 ft AGL down to 42 ft AGL in 125 seconds.
The final approach to runway 10 at KGKT Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport was completed, with the aircraft meeting the stabilisation gates criteria.
Landing on runway 10 was achieved on a runway 1,671 m long; the threshold speed was slightly above target at 105 kt, touchdown occurred 347 m down the runway at 98 kt, and the vertical speed at touchdown was minus 98 fpm, with the touchdown point offset by 3.9 m from the centreline. Local temperature at the time was 16 °C.
The total landing roll measured 964 m, equivalent to 58 % of the runway length, and the rollout alignment was recorded as very good.
Overall, the flight covered a distance of 30 nm, taking 12, and consumed 50 kg of fuel.
