Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,008 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 444 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-600, then departed from runway 06 at KHST Homestead ARB Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,020 meters, which accounted for 30% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 142 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it started its enroute climb overhead Homestead Base in Florida, United States. The climb began at an altitude of 1,015 feet above sea level and reached a maximum altitude of 38,978 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,963 feet in 26 minutes, covering a distance of 188 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 18 miles north of MUOC Cayo Coco Airport in Cayo Coco, Cuba, and lasted for 87 minutes, covering a distance of 652 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 95 miles northwest of SXNT Manaure Airport in Manaure, Colombia. The descent started at an altitude of 38,638 feet above sea level and reached a minimum altitude of 2,422 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,217 feet in 25 minutes, covering a distance of 178 nautical miles.
Following the descent, the aircraft entered another enroute level cruise, this time starting 8 miles west of SVMC La Chinita International Airport in Maracaibo, Venezuela. This cruise lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 03L at SVMC La Chinita International Airport was made from the south, with a heading of 23.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,266 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 122 knots and a touchdown rate of -162 feet per minute. The touchdown distance was 446 meters, which was 31% of the runway length.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 89 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 1 knot. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.5 meters from the centerline. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,032 nautical miles, taking a total of 151 minutes, and the aircraft used 6,571 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-600 aircraft successfully landed at La Chinita International Airport, specifically on runway 03L, with a score of 99.2%. The final approach was initiated from the south, with a heading of 23.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,266 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 129 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown distance of 446 meters, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown speed was 122 knots, and the touchdown rate was -162 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.5 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments during future landings.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 25°C and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 89°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, and the headwind component was 1 knot, which did not pose any significant challenges to the landing. The total landing distance was 937 meters, which is 31% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft's brakes and control surfaces were functioning properly. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft's performance was satisfactory, with a score of 99.2%.
