MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,169 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,032 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at RKSI Incheon International Airport, a process that took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 33L, with a takeoff distance of 1,404 feet, which accounted for 11% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 105 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 44°F temperature and a wind speed of 23 knots at 310°. The crosswind was 6 knots, while the headwind was 22 knots. After departing from RKSI, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and involved ascending from 1,058 feet above sea level to 29,950 feet above sea level, an increase of 28,892 feet in 18 minutes and covering a distance of 34 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 3 miles southwest of RKSO Osan Air Base and lasted for 45 minutes, covering a distance of 276 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 35 miles north of Izumo, Japan, and involved descending from 30,389 feet above sea level to 3,852 feet above sea level, a decrease of 26,536 feet in 10 minutes and covering a distance of 52 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 14 miles northeast of Yonago, Japan, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started 7 miles north of Yonago and involved descending from 3,181 feet above sea level to 1,534 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,646 feet in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at RJOH Yonago Kitaro Airport/JASDF Miho Air Base was made from the east, with a heading of 246.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,507 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 66 knots and a touchdown distance of 1,028 feet. The touchdown rate was fair at -288 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 50°F temperature and a wind speed of 11 knots at 60°. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the tailwind was 11 knots. The total landing distance was 2,755 feet, which accounted for 34% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 381 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 89 minutes. The aircraft used 597 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at RJOH Yonago Kitaro Airport / JASDF Miho Air Base, achieving a score of 98.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 246.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,507 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the Vision Jet touched down on runway 25, which has a length of 8,169 feet. The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 76 kt, coming in at 77 kt.
The touchdown distance of 1,028 feet was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 66 kt was also within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown rate of -288 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly higher rate of descent than desired.
Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway as it touched down. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 50°F and winds of 11 kt at 60°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 kt, while the tailwind component was 11 kt.
The total landing distance of 2,755 feet was 34% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled as it came to a stop after landing. Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at RJOH Yonago Kitaro Airport / JASDF Miho Air Base was a successful one, with the aircraft performing well in a variety of conditions.
