MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
At the 500 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,555 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 14 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 22L at KORD Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,134 meters, which accounted for 46% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 153 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 8 knots from a direction of 237 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 8 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile east of Bensenville, Illinois, and ascended from an altitude of 1,681 feet above sea level to 22,786 feet above sea level, an increase of 21,105 feet, in 11 minutes and covering a distance of 60 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 12 miles east of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and lasted for 7 minutes, covering a distance of 63 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 8 miles west of Pentwater, Michigan, and descended from 22,778 feet above sea level to 3,720 feet above sea level, a decrease of 19,058 feet, in 14 minutes and covering a distance of 80 nautical miles.
The aircraft entered another level cruise phase 3 miles south of Lake Leelanau, Michigan, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 4 miles south east of Suttons Bay, Michigan, and descended from 3,605 feet above sea level to 1,910 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,695 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 18 at KTVC Cherry Capital Airport was made from the north, with a heading of 180.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,274 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 18, which had a length of 1,555 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 121 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 11 meters, and the touchdown speed was also good at 121 knots. However, the touchdown rate was heavy at -639 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 210 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 999 meters, which accounted for 64% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 221 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 49 minutes. The aircraft used 2,331 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at KTVC Cherry Capital Airport, achieving a score of 92.5%. The final approach to runway 18 was initiated from the north, heading 180.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,274 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 121 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, the touchdown distance of 11 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed and rate were also within acceptable limits, with a touchdown speed of 121 kt and a touchdown rate of -639 feet per minute (fpm), although the latter was deemed heavy.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 18°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from 210°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 kt, while the headwind component was 3 kt. These conditions contributed to a perfect runway touchdown alignment and a total landing distance of 999 meters, which accounted for 64% of the runway length.
The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft maintained its alignment with the runway during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft meeting most of the performance criteria. However, the heavy touchdown rate may require further attention to ensure that the aircraft is landing within the desired parameters.
