Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,962 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,962 m of the 2,933 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,033 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.

The liftoff speed was 170 knots, and the local weather conditions indicated a temperature of 32°C, with a light wind blowing at 2 knots from a heading of 60°, resulting in minimal crosswind and headwind components.
Once airborne, the enroute climb began 1 mile south of Powai in the state of Maharashtra, India. The climb took the aircraft from 1,048 feet above sea level to 36,460 feet, covering a total altitude increase of 35,412 feet in 35 minutes and 240 nm. After reaching cruising altitude, the flight continued over Madhya Pradesh, India, and entered a level cruise phase 6 miles northwest of Bhikangaon. This cruising phase lasted 72 minutes and covered a distance of 551 nm.
As the aircraft neared its destination of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, the enroute descent commenced 1 mile south of Bettiah in the state of Bihar. The descent took the aircraft from 36,965 feet to 6,309 feet, decreasing the altitude by 30,656 feet over a span of 18 minutes and 67 nm.
The landing at runway 02 at Tribhuvan International Airport was smooth, with the aircraft touching down after a distance of 1,031 meters from the threshold. The touchdown speed was 130 knots, and the vertical speed indicator showed a descent rate of 78 ft/m. The total landing distance was 1,883 meters, which was 64% of the runway length. The weather at the airport indicated a temperature of 20°C, with a light wind blowing at 2 knots from a heading of 110°, resulting in minimal crosswind and headwind components.
