Track the centreline
Preparing for a stable approach will give you time to decide on whether to attempt the landing or going around. Too much altitude with a high sink rate will result in carrying too much speed onto the runway. Configuring flaps and the gear late also won't help the speed decay.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: centreline 5.0° off, against a 1° limit.
At the 500 ft gate: glideslope 8.0° against the runway's 3° and centreline 7.9° off, against a 1° limit.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,524 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 189 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver departed BGSF Kangerlussuaq Airport on runway 09, accelerating through a takeoff roll of 210 m which represented 8 % of the runway length. Liftoff was achieved at 73 kt. Ambient conditions were 1 °C with a wind from 065° at 5 kt; the cross-wind component was 0 kt and the head-wind component was 5 kt.
Climb commenced shortly after liftoff, beginning overhead Kangerlussuaq (Qeqqata, Greenland). The aircraft rose from 689 ft asl to 1 738 ft asl, a gain of 1 049 ft, in 1 minute while covering 3 nm.
During the final approach to a runway situated 5 nm south-west of Kangerlussuaq, the aircraft descended from 1 268 ft agl to 54 ft agl over 139 seconds, meeting the stabilisation gate criteria.
A further approach segment saw the aircraft descend from 44 ft agl to ground level in 4 seconds, a reduction of 44 ft, as it prepared for touchdown at the same field.
Touchdown occurred at a speed of 69 kt, described as fast, with a hard vertical rate of minus 485 fpm. The touchdown point was 186 m down the runway. Weather at the time remained 1 °C with a wind from 065° at 5 kt; a cross-wind of 1 kt and a tail-wind component of 5 kt were recorded.
The landing rollout continued to an altitude of 9 ft asl and covered a distance of 232 m before the aircraft came to a stop.
In total, the flight covered 7 nm, took 3 minutes, and consumed 5 kg of fuel.
The De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver approached the runway 5 miles south-west of Kangerlussuaq (Qeqqata, Greenland) with an unstable assessment at the 1,000 ft gate, being off the centreline, and descended from 1,268 ft agl to 54 ft agl over 139 seconds.
During the threshold and flare phase the aircraft reduced altitude from 44 ft agl to 0 ft agl, a decrease of 44 ft in 4 seconds, as it prepared for touchdown.
Touchdown occurred at a speed of 69 kt, noted as fast, with a hard rate of descent measured at minus 485 fpm, and the touchdown point was good at 186 m from the threshold; local weather was 1 °C with wind 5 kt from 65°, a 1 kt crosswind and a 5 kt tailwind.
The rollout continued with the aircraft at 9 ft asl and covered a distance of 232 m after touchdown.
With a score of 84.8 %, the primary refinements are to maintain centreline alignment on final and to moderate touchdown speed, which will reduce the hard vertical rate and further improve touchdown quality.
