Work on the flare
See Arrival Landing
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,395 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 745 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from EDDS Stuttgart Airport, the aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 9 minutes and covered 3 nautical miles. As it rolled down runway 25, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 141 knots, achieving lift-off in 1,002 meters, which was 33% of the runway's length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 14°C, with a gentle wind of 5 knots blowing from the north.
As the aircraft climbed away from Stuttgart, it began its enroute climb, ascending from 1,769 feet above sea level to 21,217 feet in just 7 minutes, covering a distance of 39 nautical miles. The climb was a steep one, with an increase of 19,447 feet in altitude. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, flying at a steady altitude for 16 minutes as it covered 119 nautical miles. This was followed by a series of descents, with the aircraft losing altitude in stages as it approached its destination. The final descent phase began 2 miles south-east of Essen, with the aircraft descending from 2,980 feet to 1,452 feet in just 2 minutes.
As the aircraft approached EDDL Düsseldorf Airport, it began its final approach to runway 23L, flying from the north-east at a heading of 233.0°. The landing was made at a speed of 124 knots, with the touchdown point being 321 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 114 knots, but the touchdown rate was firm at -349 feet per minute. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, a process that took just 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 254 nautical miles, with the aircraft using 903 kilograms of fuel in the process.
The final approach to runway 23L at EDDL Düsseldorf Airport from the north east was initiated at 4 nm and 1,311 ft above ground level, heading 233.0°. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a threshold height of 65 ft above ground level, which was above the target. The threshold speed was good at 124 kt, indicating a well-executed approach.
As the aircraft touched down 321 m beyond the touchdown zone, the touchdown speed of 114 kt was a little fast, resulting in a firm touchdown rate of -349 fpm. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 12.3 m from the centreline, which was a minor deviation. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 16 °C and a gentle headwind of 4 kt, contributed to a relatively smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 1,223 m was 51% of the runway length, indicating a controlled rollout. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 12.3 m from the centreline, which was a minor deviation. Overall, the landing performance of Aircraft C750 scored 85.6%, reflecting a good but not exceptional landing.
