Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,639 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,639 m of the 3,594 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 735 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A320, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes. This process took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 18, and the takeoff distance was 1,223 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 146 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 7°C and wind blowing at 12 knots from a direction of 209°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 11 knots. After departing from Tromsø, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport. The climb took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 139 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,046 feet above sea level to 37,544 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 18 minutes and covered a distance of 341 nautical miles. This phase began 15 miles northeast of Straumen in Nordland Fylke, Norway. After the cruise phase, the aircraft started its enroute descent, which began 16 miles north of EN25 Solenstua in Innlandet, Norway. The descent took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 112 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 37,973 feet to 1,956 feet.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its final approach to runway 19R at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. The approach was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 196.0° at an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 3,594 meters, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed was also good at 133 knots.
The touchdown point was 315 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 125 knots, which was considered good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -230 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also very good after the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 2°C and wind blowing at 4 knots from a direction of 140°, with a crosswind component of 3 knots and a headwind component of 2 knots.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 600 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 61 minutes. The aircraft used 3,426 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, with a score of 92.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 196.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 19R, which has a length of 3,594 meters.
The landing was executed with good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 133 knots. The touchdown point was located 315 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is slightly off-center but not excessively so. The touchdown speed of 125 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -230 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have been brought down more smoothly.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 2°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from 140°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. These conditions were favorable for the landing, and the aircraft's alignment with the runway during touchdown was very good.
The total landing distance of 1,554 meters was 43% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was brought to a stop in a controlled and stable manner. Overall, the landing was executed well, with only a few minor areas for improvement.
