Published frequencies are: AFIS on 128.525 MHz (Langen Information), approach on 123.6 MHz (Wittmund/Jever Radar), an information frequency on 118.605 MHz (Emden Information), and a radar frequency on 124.65 MHz (Bremen Radar). There is no ILS approach available at the field.

Today Emden Airport is marketed as the Aviation Park North Sea, described by its operator as the leading aviation and logistics location on the German North Sea coast, combining airfield operations with an adjoining business park geared toward the offshore industry. It supports island-hopping flights to the Frisian Islands and helicopter shuttle operations to North Sea wind farms alongside general aviation and business flying. Published opening hours vary by season: in summer the field operates Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 20:00 local time and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 08:00 to 18:00; in winter it operates Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 09:00 to 17:00. Operations outside these published hours require prior permission (PPR).
