It sits within Danish controlled airspace and handles traffic for both Copenhagen and the wider Oresund area, including cross-border movements to and from southern Sweden.

Runways

Kastrup has three physical runways. Runway 04L/22R is the longest, with 04L measuring 11,641 feet and 22R 9,832 feet, both hard-surfaced, lit, and equipped with ILS. Runway 04R/22L is similarly long, at 10,827 feet from 04R and 10,826 feet from 22L, also hard-surfaced, lit, and served by ILS. The third runway, 12/30, is shorter, with 12 at 7,751 feet and 30 at 9,174 feet, again hard-surfaced, lit, and fitted with ILS on both directions.

Radio & Navigation

Air traffic services are provided across a wide range of frequencies. Approach control operates as Kastrup Arrival and Copenhagen Approach on 118.45 MHz and 119.8 MHz, with Kastrup Final on 120.2 MHz. Clearance delivery is Kastrup Clearance Delivery on 119.9 MHz. Ground movements are handled by Kastrup Apron on 121.625 MHz, 121.725 MHz and 121.9 MHz. Kastrup Tower operates on several frequencies: 118.1 MHz, 118.575 MHz, 118.7 MHz, 119.35 MHz and 121.825 MHz. Departure control is provided as Kastrup Departure on 120.25 MHz and 124.975 MHz. ATIS broadcasts are available on 122.75 MHz for arrivals and 122.85 MHz for departures. All three runways are equipped with ILS.
