The airport sits at the very northern tip of Andøya, an island off the coast of Nordland Fylge, overlooking the Norwegian Sea. It lies close to the town of Andenes, with the surrounding terrain dominated by the open Arctic coastline typical of this part of northern Norway.
The field has two physical runways. The main runway, 14/32, is 8905 ft (32) and 8882 ft (14) long, hard-surfaced and lit, with an ILS serving runway 14. A secondary runway, 03/21, measures 5450 ft in each direction, also hard-surfaced and lit. Field elevation is 20 ft.
Radio services are provided on GCA 119.1 MHz and TWR 118.2 MHz. An ILS is available for runway 14, supporting instrument approaches into the airfield.
