Ängelholm-Helsingborg Airport serves the northwestern corner of Skåne County in southern Sweden, situated close to the towns of Ängelholm and Helsingborg. It is owned by Peab and operated by Ängelholms Flygplats AB, and combines a scheduled airline operation with general aviation use. For a visiting sim pilot it offers a single well-marked, ILS-equipped runway and a straightforward approach from the Öresund coast.
The airfield is located about 7 km from Ängelholm and 34 km from Helsingborg, on the Skåne coast in southern Sweden. It is served by both an approach and a tower frequency, indicating controlled airspace around the aerodrome with radar service provided by Malmö Approach.
Ängelholm-Helsingborg has one physical runway, 14/32, 6,362 ft long with a hard, lit surface. An ILS is available for runway 14, giving pilots a precision approach aid for arrivals from that direction.
Traffic in the area is worked by Malmö Approach on 132.45 MHz, with the airport's own tower controlling on 127.1 MHz. Runway 14 is served by an ILS for instrument approaches.
A military airforce base was established at the site in 1945, and civilian passenger flights began in 1960, so for many years the airfield hosted joint military and civil operations. The Swedish Air Force withdrew in 2002, after which the field became a civilian-only airport. In 2020 the airport's owner warned that it might close without government support, but it has continued to operate and remained active as of 2025.
Ängelholm-Helsingborg continues to operate as a civilian airport with scheduled airline service, including flights to Stockholm-Arlanda and, seasonally, to Sälen-Trysil. It is southern Sweden's second-largest airport in the Skåne region and the eighth-largest in the country by traffic.
