Diego Garcia has a single physical runway, 13/31, measuring 12,008 feet and constructed of a hard surface. It is lit for night operations. Field elevation is 13 feet, and there is no ILS approach available.
The airfield uses the following frequencies: A/G (air-to-ground voice) on 1325.4 MHz; APP (approach) on 134.1 MHz; ATIS on 28.2 MHz; GCA on 118.4 MHz; GND OPS on 128 MHz; AMC OPS/PMSV (PMSV METRO) on 34.46 MHz; and TWR on 34.02 MHz.
Diego Garcia continues to operate as a military airfield, functioning as a Naval Support Facility rather than a civilian aerodrome, with no scheduled airline service. Air-to-ground, approach, tower and ground control services are provided on the frequencies listed above, and the field has no ILS instrument approach.
