Douala International Airport (FKKD/DLA) is Cameroon's busiest airport, serving the port city of Douala in the Littoral Region as the country's principal gateway. Douala International Airport is the largest and busiest airport in Cameroon, situated at the edge of mangrove areas south of the central districts of Douala, the country's largest city and economic capital. The airport lies on the southern edge of Douala's central districts, close to the surrounding mangrove wetlands. It is a controlled aerodrome, with an operating tower frequency, reflecting its status as the country's principal international gateway.

Douala International Airport occupies a large site of some 6.2 square kilometres with a perimeter of about 19 kilometres, and has long been the principal air gateway to Cameroon. On 5 May 2007, Kenya Airways Flight 507, scheduled from Abidjan to Nairobi via Douala, crashed near Mbanga Pongo close to the airport only two minutes after departing in poor weather; the Cameroonian civil aviation authority's investigation concluded that pilot error was to blame for the accident.
The airport site includes passenger and cargo terminals, a military zone operated by the Cameroonian Air Force, the ASECNA Regional Fire Safety School (ERSI), and an aeroclub alongside technical areas. It remains Cameroon's busiest airport by traffic, and infrastructure such as the parking aprons and runway have undergone periodic renovation, including works completed in 2016.
