Monmouth Executive Airport is a privately owned, public-use general aviation field in Wall Township, New Jersey, roughly midway between Belmar and Farmingdale on the Jersey Shore. Its 7,623-foot main runway is among the longest privately owned strips in the United States, making the field a magnet for business jets as well as flight training and touring light aircraft. For a simulator pilot it offers an interesting mix of a large, quiet runway system operating in uncontrolled Class G airspace close to New York's congested skies.
Monmouth Executive Airport (KBLM) is a privately owned, public-use airport serving Belmar and Farmingdale in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Long known as Allaire Airport until 2003, it has been operated since 2013 by Wall Aviation under owner Alan Antaki, and is home to the Monmouth Jet Center FBO. Its unusually long main runway for a general aviation field, combined with a low volume of traffic, makes it a distinctive and approachable destination for simulator pilots exploring the New Jersey Shore area.
The airport lies in Wall Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey, about six miles west of Belmar and just east of Farmingdale, roughly an hour's drive from downtown Manhattan. It operates in Class G airspace and sits within reach of McGuire Air Force Base's approach and departure control, whose frequency is used locally. The field is one of a pair of airports associated with owner Alan Antaki, who also operates Sussex Airport in the northwestern part of the state.
Monmouth Executive has two physical runways. The main runway, 14/32, is 7,623 feet long with a hard surface and runway lighting, making it one of the longest privately owned runways in the United States. The secondary runway, 03/21, is 3,512 feet long with a hard surface but is not listed as lit. The field elevation is 138 feet.
Traffic at Monmouth Executive is handled on CTAF/UNICOM at 123 MHz. An AWOS-3 automated weather observation is available on 121.625 MHz. Pilots requiring clearance can use McGuire Clearance Delivery on 120.95 MHz, and McGuire Approach/Departure is available on 124.15 MHz for those operating in or transiting the surrounding controlled airspace. A Millville radio/navigation reference is listed on 113.8 MHz. There is no ILS at the field.
Monmouth Executive Airport was founded in 1938 by Edward Brown Jr., a self-taught aviator and former Navy pilot, who acquired around 700 acres in Wall Township from the widow of newspaper columnist Arthur Brisbane. Brown reportedly cleared the land himself, using a World War I army tank borrowed from the Belmar American Legion to level the first runway. After wartime service as a Navy pilot, he returned to expand the airport into a fixture of New Jersey general aviation. In 1948 Brown opened what is described as the world's first fly-in drive-in theatre alongside the airport, accommodating 500 cars and 25 aircraft, which operated until September 1966; he also experimented with a quarry, golf driving range, amusement park and nightclub on the property. Following Brown's death in 2006 the airport passed to his family, before being sold in 2013 to Wall Aviation, a consortium led by Alan Antaki, who renamed it from Allaire Airport to Monmouth Executive Airport. The new ownership introduced round-the-clock operations and infrastructure upgrades aimed at business aviation, a shift that displaced some existing skydiving and banner-towing tenants. In 2023 Monmouth County explored acquiring the airport by eminent domain, a move Antaki strongly contested; the dispute was resolved by 2025 with an agreement between the county and the airport that included a state grant for runway repairs and a commitment to keep the site operating as an airport.
The airport is home to the Monmouth Jet Center FBO and hosts two flight schools, Eagles View Aviation and Elite Flight Experience, the latter also serving as a Cirrus Aircraft authorised service centre and training partner. Fuel available includes Avfuel 100LL and Jet A, and services on offer include lavatory servicing, de-icing and ground power units for based and visiting aircraft. In the year ending July 2022 the field recorded around 63,750 aircraft operations, split roughly 85 percent general aviation and 15 percent air taxi, averaging about 175 movements a day.
