Fleming Mason Airport (KFGX) is a small general aviation field at Flemingsburg in Fleming County, Kentucky, sited a short distance from Maysville and administered by the Fleming-Mason Airport Board. It offers a single hard-surfaced, lit runway aligned 07/25 and is a useful stop for VFR pilots transiting the northeastern Kentucky area.

Overview

Fleming Mason Airport serves the Flemingsburg and Maysville area of northeastern Kentucky as a general aviation facility. It is operated by the Fleming-Mason Airport Board, a local body responsible for the field's administration, and supports light aircraft operations, local flying and, in recent years, has been the focus of infrastructure investment aimed at expanding training and hangar capacity.

Airspace & Location

The airport lies near Flemingsburg, Kentucky, within reach of Maysville to the northeast. En route air traffic services in the area are provided by Indianapolis Center. No specific airspace classification or nearby controlled airspace detail is given in the available sources.

Runways

Fleming Mason Airport has a single physical runway, 07/25, with a hard surface and runway lighting. Runway 07 measures 4,669 feet and Runway 25 measures 4,968 feet. Field elevation is 906 feet.

Radio & Navigation

Pilots should use CTAF/UNICOM on 123.0 MHz for airfield calls, as the field is uncontrolled. Weather information is available via AWOS-3 on 118.125 MHz. The Airfield Today

The Fleming-Mason Airport Board oversees day-to-day administration of the field. The airport has been the subject of a major infrastructure programme, with approximately 7.6 million dollars in combined Federal Aviation Administration and Kentucky Department of Aviation grant funding allocated for a new runway, airport parking, lighting and new hangar space. Part of this development is intended to support an Aviation Mechanic Training Program run in partnership with Maysville Community and Technical College, intended to bring additional activity to the airport.
