Beech River Regional Airport (ICAO: KPVE, FAA identifier PVE) is a public-use general aviation airport at Darden, Tennessee, owned by the Beech River Regional Airport Authority, which represents the cities of Lexington and Parsons and the counties of Henderson and Decatur. It opened in 2006 and primarily serves general aviation traffic in southwest Tennessee, lying roughly midway between Nashville and Memphis and close to the Tennessee River and several Beech River watershed lakes.
The airport sits in Henderson County, Tennessee, about five nautical miles northwest of the central business district of Parsons, a city in neighbouring Decatur County. It is a non-towered field appearing on the Memphis sectional chart, and IFR operations are supported under the Jackson Flight Service Station, with NOTAMs filed through McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport.
The airport has a single physical runway, 01/19, with a hard surface measuring 5,948 feet in length. Both runway ends are equipped with runway lighting and PAPI, and the field is lit from sunset to sunrise.
Air/Departure frequency is 125.85 MHz, the automated weather observing system (AWOS-3) broadcasts on 118.125 MHz, and the CTAF/UNICOM frequency is 123.0 MHz. The airport has no ILS approach.
The airport lies about five nautical miles northwest of Lexington-Parsons, close to the Tennessee River and several Beech River watershed lakes, which can assist with visual orientation when inbound from the surrounding area.
Beech River Regional Airport opened in 2006 under the ownership of the Beech River Regional Airport Authority, a body representing the cities of Lexington and Parsons, the counties of Henderson and Decatur, and the state of Tennessee. It was included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011-2015 as a general aviation facility. For the twelve months ending August 2010 the airport recorded 3,440 aircraft operations, averaging 286 per month, with 93 percent general aviation, 6 percent air taxi and 1 percent military activity; at that time 26 aircraft were based there, split between single-engine, multi-engine and jet types.
The airport is attended during business hours, Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and is closed on Sundays. It offers both 100LL avgas and Jet A fuel. The field covers 467 acres and continues to support general aviation training, private flying and related activity in the Lexington-Parsons area.
