The airfield has a single runway, 15/33, 5,420 feet long with a hard surface and runway lighting, oriented to align with the prevailing valley terrain.

The airport was previously known as Bidwell Airport before adopting its current name. The land was purchased from Tyler Graham in the late 1950s, and the field grew to cover 602 acres. It once hosted scheduled airline service, with United Airlines operating flights until it withdrew in 1952 and Pacific Air Lines continuing service until leaving in 1962; the airport has seen little or no airline activity since.
The airport is owned by the City of Red Bluff and operated through a fixed base operator, Cardan Aircraft Services, which supports general aviation and transient traffic at the field.
