Limoges has two physical runways. The main runway, 03/21, is 8009 feet long with a hard surface and is lit; it is equipped with an ILS on the 21 approach direction. A secondary parallel runway, 03R/21L, is 2619 feet long, has a grass surface and is also lit. Field elevation is 1270 feet.

History

Limoges Airport opened in 1970 and has since carried more than five million passengers. It is operated by the SMALB, a mixed syndicate composed of the Region Nouvelle Aquitaine (49.6 percent), the Haute-Vienne Department (25.2 percent) and Limoges Metropole (25.2 percent).

The Airfield Today

The airport today combines scheduled airline operations with general aviation use of its parallel grass runway. Airline services include routes to Paris Orly and Lyon with Chalair Aviation, to London Stansted and East Midlands with Ryanair, and to Rome Fiumicino with Volotea. The field has an airside hangar available and has renewed Level 2 ACA environmental certification, reflecting ongoing environmental management at the site.
