Évora Airfield (LPEV) is a civil aerodrome serving the city of Évora in the Alentejo region of Portugal, chiefly used by flight schools for cross-country navigation training and by recreational pilots. It hosts the annual Portugal Air Show and sits alongside an Embraer parts factory, making it a field of some industrial as well as recreational interest to visiting VFR pilots.
Évora Airfield lies just outside the city of Évora in the Alentejo region of Portugal. It functions as an important civil training and recreational airfield, used mainly for navigation flights by flight schools based elsewhere in the country, notably those operating out of Cascais (LPCS), as well as by local recreational flyers. The field has its own Air Club and is the regular venue for the 'Portugal Air Show'. A factory built by the Brazilian aerospace corporation Embraer stands adjacent to the airfield, producing parts for the Legacy 500 business jet and the KC-390 military transport, giving the site an unusual industrial backdrop for a general aviation field.
The airfield is situated at Évora in the Distrito de Évora, Portugal, at an elevation of around 797 to 807 feet above mean sea level depending on the reference used. Nearby navaids include a beacon on 376 kHz (BJA) and a VOR on 115.80 MHz (BEJ), which can assist with general orientation in the area. There is no ILS approach at the field.
Évora Airfield has two physical runways. The main runway, 01/19, is a hard-surfaced, lit runway approximately 4,089 to 4,130 feet long depending on direction. A secondary runway, 07/25, is a grass strip approximately 1,855 feet long and also lit, suitable for lighter recreational traffic.
The field is served by an AFIS (Aerodrome Flight Information Service) on 122.7 MHz, with the callsign 'INFO'. There is no instrument landing system, so arrivals and departures are conducted visually with reference to the AFIS unit.
Évora Airfield has long served as a hub for flight training in Portugal, hosting navigation flights from schools based around the country, including those operating from Cascais. The airfield has also become established as the regular site of the 'Portugal Air Show', an annual event held at the field. In more recent years the Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer constructed a factory immediately adjacent to the airfield, where components for the Legacy 500 business jet and the KC-390 military transport aircraft are produced, linking the airfield to a modern industrial aviation presence alongside its traditional flying training role.
