Ponte de Sor's municipal aerodrome sits in the Alentejo region of central Portugal and has become one of the country's more significant general aviation and flight-training centres. It is owned and operated by the Município de Ponte de Sor and is certified by the Autoridade Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) as a Class II, Code 3C, Category 2 aerodrome for fire and rescue purposes. The aerodrome lies near the town of Ponte de Sor in the Distrito de Portalegre, within the Alentejo region of Portugal, roughly 50 nautical miles from Lisbon. It is authorised to accept both VFR and IFR traffic, including night operations with instrument approaches in VMC.
The aerodrome has a single physical runway, 03/21, 5902 feet long with a hard surface and lit for night operations. Runway 21 is served by an ILS approach.
No specific communications frequencies for the aerodrome are published. The field is served by an Aerodrome Flight Information Service (AFIS), delivered from a flight information tower that was inaugurated in 2023, providing information to pilots operating VFR and IFR traffic. Runway 21 offers an ILS/DME approach.
The town of Ponte de Sor itself, adjacent to the aerodrome, serves as the principal visual landmark for pilots inbound to the field within the otherwise open, largely agricultural Alentejo landscape.

It has aircraft parking aprons and hangar facilities, with municipal land reserved for further expansion of taxiways and runway length should this prove necessary in future.
