Santa Rosa Airport is a public airport in La Pampa Province, Argentina, situated on the northeast corner of the city of Santa Rosa and serving both Santa Rosa and the neighbouring town of Toay. It is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 and today handles scheduled airline services alongside general aviation movements. The airport lies on the northeast side of the city of Santa Rosa, La Pampa Province, in central Argentina.
Santa Rosa has a single physical runway, 01/19, 7,544 feet long with a hard surface and runway lighting. An ILS is provided for runway 19, giving instrument approach capability from that direction.
Radio communications are provided on RDO 296.5 MHz and TWR 118.3 MHz. The airport is equipped with an Instrument Landing System, installed in 1996 together with a radio beacon, supporting approaches to runway 19.
Santa Rosa Airport was built in 1940, and its first regular flight took place on 1 September 1940, a military Junkers service en route from Buenos Aires to Esquel Airport via Santa Rosa, Neuquén and San Carlos de Bariloche Airport. The passenger terminal was built in 1971. In 1988 the runway was extended to 2,300 metres (about 7,500 feet), close to its present length. An Instrument Landing System and radio beacon were installed in 1996, and in 1999 Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 took over management of the airport. The field has previously been served by LADE, LAER and Southern Winds, and in 2007 it handled 12,915 passengers.
Santa Rosa Airport is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 and currently sees scheduled service from Aerolíneas Argentinas to Buenos Aires-Aeroparque. In 2016 the airport handled 42,294 total passengers. The presence of an ILS and lit runway supports operations in a range of weather and light conditions for both airline and general aviation traffic.
