Mocopulli has a single physical runway, 17/35, of 6,568 feet with a hard surface. The runway is equipped with an ILS serving runway 35, giving instrument approach capability into the field.

Mocopulli Airport was developed as the airport for Dalcahue and Castro on Chiloé Island, replacing older, more limited airstrips serving the island. It has since become the point of entry for scheduled airline services connecting Chiloé with Santiago, operated by LATAM Chile and Sky Airline.
