MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Improve the touchdown
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,714 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,714 m of the 3,092 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 343 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A321ceo taxied from the parking area to runway 29 at EPGD Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport; the movement required 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 29, the aircraft accelerated over a take-off distance of 1,178 m, representing 42 % of the runway, and lifted off at 154 kt. Ambient conditions were a temperature of 17 °C, wind from 269° at 16 kt with a 6 kt cross-wind component and a 14 kt head-wind component.
Climb commenced overhead Rebiechowo, rising from 1,403 ft asl to 38,010 ft asl - an altitude gain of 36,607 ft - achieved in 20 minutes while covering 123 nm.
Level cruise began 4 miles south-west of Gryfice and was maintained for 3 minutes, during which 26 nm were flown.
Descent started 4 miles north-east of Nowe Warpno, descending from 38,034 ft asl to 1,249 ft asl - a loss of 36,784 ft - over 30 minutes and a distance of 155 nm.
The final approach to runway 23 at EDDH Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport reduced altitude from 1,240 ft agl to 70 ft agl in 110 seconds, and the aircraft scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 23, whose length is 3,092 m, was executed with a threshold speed of 134 kt. Touchdown occurred 344 m down the runway at 128 kt, with a firm touchdown rate of minus 340 fpm and a lateral deviation of 3.8 m from the centreline. Local weather reported a temperature of 17 °C, wind from 240° at 8 kt, a 1 kt cross-wind and an 8 kt head-wind. The total landing distance measured 1,621 m, equivalent to 52 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was recorded as very good.
After exiting the runway, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a maneuver that lasted 4 minutes and covered 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 312 nm, required 66 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 2,827 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A321ceo approached runway 23 at EDDH Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport in a stabilised configuration at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits; the descent from 1,240 ft agl to 70 ft agl was completed in 110 seconds while temperature was 17 °C, wind 8 kt from 240 °, cross-wind 1 kt and head-wind 8 kt.
During the threshold and flare phase the aircraft maintained a good threshold height and a good threshold speed of 134 kt, and the touchdown point was good at 344 m from the runway threshold.
Touchdown occurred at a good speed of 128 kt, with a firm touchdown rate of minus 340 fpm and the wheel track was slightly misaligned by 3.8 m from the centreline.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,621 m, representing 52 % of the 3,092 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
To convert the high 97.5 % score into a flawless performance, focus on tightening centreline alignment to eliminate the 3.8 m offset and refine the flare to reduce the firm minus 340 fpm touchdown rate.
