Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,431 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,431 m of the 3,273 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 397 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 27 at Indira Gandhi International Airport, covering 4 nm in 23 minutes.
During the departure roll on runway 27, the aircraft used 2,368 m of runway (89 % of the available length) and lifted off at 156 kt; ambient temperature was 32 °C with wind 6 kt from 240°, a 3 kt cross-wind component and a 5 kt head-wind.
The initial en-route climb began 2 mi west of VIDP, climbing from 1,620 ft asl to 37,413 ft asl-a gain of 35,793 ft-over 31 minutes while covering 231 nm.
The first cruise segment commenced 7 mi north of Gursarai, lasting 167 minutes and traversing 1,379 nm at level flight.
A second climb started at latitude 9.8920374, longitude 96.651773, raising the aircraft from 37,999 ft asl to 38,964 ft asl, an increase of 965 ft in 2 minutes and covering 13 nm.
The subsequent cruise leg began 107 mi northwest of Ban Khao Lak, lasting 75 minutes and covering 606 nm at cruise altitude.
Descent operations were initiated 7 mi southwest of Batu Pahat, descending from 38,898 ft asl to 1,877 ft asl-a loss of 37,020 ft-in 21 minutes and spanning 128 nm.
A brief level segment followed 10 mi northeast of Singapore Changi Airport, lasting 2 minutes and covering 6 nm.
On final approach to runway 20R at Singapore Changi Airport, the aircraft descended from 1,340 ft agl to 101 ft agl in 105 seconds, meeting the required stabilization criteria.
Landing on runway 20R was executed with a threshold speed of 134 kt; touchdown occurred 400 m down the runway at 129 kt with a vertical speed of -204 fpm, and the total landing distance was 2,352 m (72 % of runway). Ambient conditions were 33 °C, wind 10 kt from 160°, a 7 kt cross-wind and a 7 kt head-wind.
The rollout alignment was recorded as very good, and the aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 7 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight covered 2,375 nm, required 329 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 62,037 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A380-800 executed a stabilised approach to runway 20R at Singapore Changi (WSSS), with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits at the 1,000 ft gate. Descent progressed from 1,340 ft AGL to 101 ft AGL in 105 seconds under a temperature of 33 °C, wind 10 kt from 160°, comprising a 7 kt cross-wind and a 7 kt head-wind.
At threshold the aircraft maintained a good threshold speed of 134 kt and a good threshold height, establishing the flare in accordance with the expected profile.
Touchdown occurred 400 m down the runway at a speed of 129 kt, noted as a little fast, with a fair vertical rate of minus 204 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was very good.
Rollout continued for a total landing distance of 2,352 m, representing 72 % of the 3,273 m runway, and rollout alignment remained very good.
Reduce touchdown speed slightly toward the target VREF to eliminate the “little fast” condition and manage the flare to achieve a more moderate vertical rate, which will further optimise the landing distance and maintain the high overall score.
