Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 997 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 997 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 20 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 31 at EDWR Borkum Airport, where the Cessna Skyhawk took off with a takeoff distance of 360 meters, which is 36% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 75 knots. At the time of takeoff, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 13 knots from a direction of 269 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 10 knots.
As the aircraft entered the left-hand pattern, it did so from runway 31 at EDWR Borkum Airport. The distance covered during this entry was less than 1 nautical mile in 54 seconds. The left-hand pattern crosswind leg was also flown, with a distance of 1 nautical mile covered in 36 seconds. The pattern downwind turn was completed with a distance of 2 nautical miles, and the angle to the runway was 41.7 degrees. The downwind leg itself was 2 nautical miles long and took 2435 seconds to complete.
The pattern base leg turn was also flown, with a distance of 2 nautical miles covered. The angle to the runway during this turn was 7.8 degrees. The final approach to runway 31 at EDWR Borkum Airport was made from the southeast, with a heading of 311.0 degrees at a distance of 1 nautical mile and an altitude of 161 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 31 at EDWR Borkum Airport was successful, with a touchdown distance of 17 meters. However, the touchdown speed was slightly above the target speed at 64 knots, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 63 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -140 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 7.6 meters.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 15 knots from a direction of 273 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 12 knots. The total landing distance was 266 meters, which is 27% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The total flight distance was 7 nautical miles, and the flight took 7 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 21 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna Skyhawk successfully landed at EDWR Borkum Airport, achieving a score of 96.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southeast, heading 311.0° at 1 nautical mile and 161 feet above ground level. The pilot executed a smooth final approach, with a good threshold height and a slightly above-target threshold speed of 64 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was a little fast at 63 knots, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -140 feet per minute. The landing distance was good at 17 meters, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.6 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 20°C and a moderate headwind of 12 knots.
The crosswind component was relatively low at 9 knots, which likely contributed to the smooth touchdown rate. The total landing distance of 266 meters was only 27% of the runway length, indicating a well-executed landing. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's skill and control during the landing phase.
Overall, the Cessna Skyhawk's landing at EDWR Borkum Airport was a success, with the pilot achieving a high score and demonstrating good flying skills. The aircraft's performance was likely influenced by the favorable weather conditions and the pilot's experience with the aircraft.
