Work on the flare
See Arrival Landing
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed 9 kt SLOW on the reference speed of 69 kt.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,956 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 164 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Lampedusa Airport (LICD) was a swift process, taking less than a minute to cover the short distance of less than a nautical mile. The Cessna 208B then began its departure roll on runway 26, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 80 kt. The takeoff distance of 449 meters was a mere 25% of the runway's length, indicating a smooth and efficient departure. Local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 15 °C and a gentle headwind of 1 kt.
As the aircraft climbed away from Lampedusa, it began its enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 7,549 ft asl after a 6-minute ascent of 6,631 ft. The climb phase covered a distance of 14 nm, with the aircraft then transitioning into a level cruise at an altitude of 7,549 ft asl. This cruise phase lasted for 31 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 90 nm. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, initially from 8,000 ft asl to 3,107 ft asl, a decrease of 4,893 ft in just 3 minutes. The descent phase was followed by a brief level cruise, before the aircraft began its final descent to 1,630 ft asl.
The final approach to runway 07 at Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport (DTMB) was executed from the west, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 73.0° at an altitude of 1,614 ft agl. The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 163 meters and a touchdown speed of 62 kt. The touchdown rate was slightly higher than desired, but the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The total landing distance was 367 meters, just 12% of the runway's length. After a short taxiing period, the aircraft came to a stop, having completed a total flight distance of 130 nm in 54 minutes and consuming 186 kg of fuel.
The Cessna 208B touched down on runway 07 at DTMB Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport with a satisfactory approach quality, demonstrating a high degree of control and precision. The aircraft descended from an altitude of 1,614 feet above ground level (agl) at a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway threshold, aligning itself with the runway centerline at a heading of 73.0°. The threshold height was good, allowing for a smooth transition from the approach to the landing phase.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft displayed a good touchdown distance of 163 meters, with a speed of 62 knots. However, the touchdown rate was slightly hard at -405 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a slight loss of control during the landing phase. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft remaining centered on the runway. The threshold speed was slightly below the target of 64 knots, but still within acceptable limits.
The rollout phase was executed flawlessly, with the aircraft maintaining perfect alignment with the runway centerline. The total landing distance of 367 meters was only 12% of the runway length, demonstrating a high degree of control and precision during the landing phase. Overall, the landing was scored 98.0%, reflecting the high level of proficiency displayed by the pilot during the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
