Avoid steep turns at low altitude
Below a thousand feet the aeroplane is slow, heavy and close to the ground. A steep turn loses lift, raises the stall speed and flattens the climb just when the gradient matters most. A normal turn on course is a rate one — fifteen degrees or so, twenty-five at the outside, this penalty is to acknowledge when a turn has stopped being a turn and become a manoeuvre.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,486 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,494 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report

First and foremost, congratulations on achieving an impressive aircraft landing score of 99.3%! This is a testament to your skill and proficiency as a pilot. Let's delve into the detailed analysis of each phase of the landing process.
During the Approach Phase, it is commendable that the glideslope alignment was excellent, indicating a precise descent path towards the runway. Additionally, maintaining a speed slightly below the target demonstrates your ability to control the aircraft in a controlled manner, ensuring a smooth transition to the landing phase.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, your performance was stellar. The good threshold height suggests that you approached the runway at the correct altitude, setting the stage for a successful touchdown. The great landing flare indicates a smooth transition from descent to landing, minimizing the impact on touchdown.
In the Touchdown Phase, your skills truly shone. The excellent touchdown rate showcases your ability to land the aircraft with precision and finesse. The on-target speed indicates that you maintained a consistent approach speed, contributing to a safe and stable touchdown. Moreover, landing within the touchdown zone and achieving a very good runway touchdown position highlights your proficiency in controlling the aircraft during the critical phase of landing.
However, it is noted that you landed with a 6 kn tailwind, which is a cause for caution. Tailwinds can affect the aircraft's performance during landing, so it is crucial to ensure that you are aware of and prepared for such conditions in the future.
Lastly, in the Rollout Phase, your runway alignment was very good, demonstrating your ability to maintain control of the aircraft even after touchdown. Consistent alignment with the runway facilitates a smooth rollout and ensures a safe taxi to the terminal.
In conclusion, your aircraft landing score of 99.3% reflects your exceptional skills and proficiency as a pilot. By focusing on areas such as tailwind management and continuing to hone your technique, you can further enhance your landing performance. Keep up the great work and continue striving for excellence in every aspect of your aviation endeavors. Well done!
