Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,891 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 434 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A319 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport, taking approximately 8 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 04R, with a takeoff distance of 1,074 meters, which accounted for 36% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 155 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 25°C temperature and winds of 7 knots at 100°. The crosswind was 6 knots, while the headwind was 4 knots. The enroute climb started over Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport, where the aircraft ascended from 1,019 feet above sea level to 30,224 feet, an increase of 29,205 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 73 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting 3 miles north of Pero, Italy, and lasted for 18 minutes, covering 121 nautical miles. The enroute descent began over Condino, Italy, where the aircraft descended from 30,042 feet to 15,127 feet, a decrease of 14,915 feet in 10 minutes, covering 56 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 3 miles west of Villandro, Italy, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering 24 nautical miles.
The enroute descent continued, starting 1 mile southeast of Gries am Brenner, Austria, where the aircraft descended from 15,102 feet to 9,720 feet, a decrease of 5,382 feet in 7 minutes, covering 28 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting over Alpbach, Austria, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering 7 nautical miles. The final descent began 2 miles southwest of Fuegenberg, Austria, where the aircraft descended from 9,362 feet to 3,524 feet, a decrease of 5,839 feet in 6 minutes, covering 14 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 26 at Innsbruck Airport, flying from the east at a heading of 252.0° and at an altitude of 1,593 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 26, which had a length of 1,891 meters. The threshold height was above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 130 knots. The touchdown distance was also good at 434 meters, with a touchdown speed of 123 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 13°C temperature and winds of 4 knots at 289°. The crosswind was 2 knots, while the headwind was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,175 meters, accounting for 62% of the runway. However, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 15.4 meters from the centerline. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took approximately 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 331 nautical miles, taking approximately 80 minutes, and the aircraft used 2,958 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at Innsbruck Airport (LOWI) with a score of 85.7%. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 252.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,593 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft was on a steady course for a landing on runway 26, which has a length of 1,891 meters.
Upon reaching the threshold, the aircraft's height was above the target, indicating a slight overshoot. However, the threshold speed was satisfactory at 130 knots, demonstrating good control and management of the aircraft's descent. The touchdown distance was also within acceptable limits at 434 meters, and the touchdown speed of 123 knots was within the desired range.
Despite the satisfactory touchdown, the aircraft's touchdown rate was heavy at -611 feet per minute (fpm), which may indicate a slightly aggressive descent. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating precise control and navigation during the final stages of the approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C and a gentle wind of 4 knots from 289°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots, providing a relatively stable and favorable environment for the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,175 meters, which accounts for 62% of the runway length. While this is within acceptable limits, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 15.4 meters from the centerline. This may indicate a slight deviation from the desired path during the rollout phase, which could be attributed to factors such as wind or pilot error.
Overall, the landing was satisfactory, with some minor deviations from the ideal performance. However, the aircraft's score of 85.7% indicates a good level of proficiency and control during the landing phase.
