MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,730 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,730 m of the 2,590 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 431 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
A flight originating from Shanghai Pudong International Airport (ZSPD) departed runway 35R, covering 55% of the 2,216-meter runway in a takeoff distance of 2,216 meters. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 172 knots, with a local temperature of 18°C and wind conditions of 6 knots at 40°, resulting in a 3-knot headwind and a 5-knot crosswind.
Following departure, the aircraft began its enroute climb, ascending from 1,018 feet above sea level to 35,001 feet in 13 minutes, covering 336 nautical miles. The climb was followed by a level cruise phase, which lasted 12 minutes and covered 497 nautical miles. The aircraft then underwent a series of climbs and level cruises, with notable increases in altitude and distance covered. Notably, the aircraft climbed from 35,001 feet to 36,480 feet in 2 minutes, covering 66 nautical miles, and later from 36,998 feet to 38,373 feet in 2 minutes, covering 62 nautical miles. The aircraft's level cruise phases were also notable, with one lasting 47 minutes and covering 1,727 nautical miles.
The flight's final approach and landing took place at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (KSEA), with the aircraft touching down on runway 34L at a speed of 136 knots. The touchdown distance was 431 meters, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, covering 2 nautical miles in 6 minutes. The total flight distance was 5,230 nautical miles, taking 176 minutes to complete, and the aircraft used 59,724 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft touched down on runway 34L at KSEA Seattle–Tacoma International Airport with a good threshold height, allowing for a smooth transition from the approach to the touchdown phase. The threshold speed of 137 kt was slightly above the target, but still within acceptable limits. The touchdown distance of 431 m was satisfactory, indicating a well-executed flare and touchdown.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed of 136 kt was a little fast, resulting in a fair touchdown rate of -227 fpm. However, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, demonstrating excellent control and precision during the final stages of the approach. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 11 °C and a light wind of 5 kt at 290 °, contributed to a stable and predictable approach.
The aircraft's rollout was characterized by excellent alignment, with the aircraft staying centered on the runway. The total landing distance of 1,651 m, which accounted for 64% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. Overall, the landing was considered highly satisfactory, with a score of 98.4% reflecting the high level of proficiency demonstrated by the crew.
