MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,057 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 540 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 35 at GMTA Cherif Al Idrissi Airport. The Airbus A320 took off with a takeoff distance of 936 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 151 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time were a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 269 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 2 miles north of GMTA Cherif Al Idrissi Airport. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,034 feet above sea level to 14,522 feet above sea level, an increase of 13,488 feet in just 5 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 28 nautical miles.
After reaching the desired cruising altitude, the aircraft began its enroute descent 24 miles west of Al Hoceima. The descent took the aircraft from 14,027 feet above sea level to 4,183 feet above sea level, a decrease of 9,844 feet in 5 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 29 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase 18 miles east of Martil, lasting for 2 minutes and covering 7 nautical miles. However, this phase was short-lived, as the aircraft soon began another climb 13 miles east of Cap Negro II. This climb took the aircraft from 4,003 feet above sea level to 5,629 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,626 feet in 2 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final descent 9 miles south-east of Ceuta. The descent took the aircraft from 5,910 feet above sea level to 1,272 feet above sea level, a decrease of 4,638 feet in 5 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 11 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached GMTN Sania Ramel Airport, it began its final approach to runway 24 from the north-east, heading 234.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,248 feet above ground level.
The aircraft landed on runway 24, which had a length of 2,057 meters. The threshold height at 78 feet above ground level was well above the target, and the threshold speed was also well above the target at 153 knots. The touchdown point was 132 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 146 knots, which was faster than the target. The touchdown rate was very heavy at -714 feet per minute.
The total landing distance was 1,111 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 270 degrees.
The total flight distance was 89 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 23 minutes. The aircraft used 0 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 aircraft successfully landed at GMTN Sania Ramel Airport, with a score of 85.1%. The final approach was initiated from the north-east, heading 234.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,248 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft was on a steady course for runway 24, which has a length of 2,057 meters.
Upon landing, the threshold height was found to be well above the target, indicating that the aircraft touched down at a higher altitude than desired. Additionally, the threshold speed was also above the target, at 153 knots. This suggests that the aircraft may have been slightly fast during the approach, which could have contributed to the subsequent touchdown speed and rate.
The touchdown point was located 132 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively short distance. However, the touchdown speed of 146 knots was found to be fast, indicating that the aircraft may have been experiencing a high rate of descent during the final stages of the approach. Furthermore, the touchdown rate was very heavy, at -714 feet per minute (fpm), which is significantly higher than the desired rate.
Despite these issues, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 18°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind and headwind components were both minimal, at 1 knot each.
The total landing distance was 1,111 meters, which is 54% of the runway length. This is a relatively short distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop quickly after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, while the landing was not perfect, the aircraft was able to safely touch down on the runway and come to a stop without incident. The score of 85.1% suggests that there is room for improvement, particularly in terms of reducing the touchdown speed and rate.
