Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,805 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,805 m of the 3,204 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 405 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777F, then departed from runway 27 at KMEM Memphis International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,492 meters, which accounted for 55% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 193 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 1 degree Celsius, with a wind speed of 17 knots at 329 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 14 knots and a headwind of 9 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile northwest of KMEM Memphis International Airport, rising from an altitude of 1,313 feet above sea level to 36,756 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,443 feet in 20 minutes. The climb covered a distance of 98 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 3 miles south of 3AR8 River Acres Airport Heber Springs, Arkansas. This phase lasted for 93 minutes and covered a distance of 1,339 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 17 miles north of El Portal, California, descending from 37,046 feet above sea level to 24,282 feet above sea level, a decrease of 12,764 feet in 4 minutes. The descent covered a distance of 44 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 3 miles northeast of East Oakdale, California, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 42 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 3 miles southeast of 63CN Meadowlark Field Livermore, California, descending from 24,145 feet above sea level to 2,486 feet above sea level, a decrease of 21,659 feet in 6 minutes. The descent covered a distance of 94 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 51 miles west of Moss Beach, California, and lasted for 7 minutes, covering a distance of 70 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 30 at KOAK San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport, approaching from the southeast at a heading of 310.0 degrees and at an altitude of 1,287 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 30 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 405 meters, which was 54% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was 130 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -308 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.3 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 0 knots at 60 degrees.
The total landing distance was 1,715 meters, and the runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 10 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,701 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 152 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 30,006 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777F aircraft successfully landed at San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport (KOAK) on runway 30. The final approach was conducted from the southeast, heading 310.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,287 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated a high level of proficiency in its approach, achieving a score of 98.5%.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 135 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 405 meters was also within the expected range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 130 knots was also satisfactory, and the touchdown rate of -308 feet per minute was firm but not excessive.
However, there was a slight deviation in the runway touchdown position, with the aircraft landing 4.3 meters off-centerline. This minor misalignment may have been due to various factors, including wind or pilot error. Nevertheless, the overall landing performance was impressive, considering the challenging conditions.
The local weather at the time of landing was characterized by a temperature of 9°C and a wind speed of 0 knots from a direction of 60°. This meant that there was no crosswind or headwind to contend with, making the landing even more straightforward. The total landing distance of 1,715 meters was 54% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively, allowing the aircraft to come to a stop without any issues. Overall, the landing of the Boeing 777F at KOAK was a success, with the aircraft demonstrating a high level of proficiency and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
