Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,166 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 175 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-MAX8, then departed from runway 17R at SBSP Congonhas Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,605 meters, which accounted for 91% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 164 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and winds blowing at 8 knots from a direction of 190 degrees. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 6 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 2 miles north of Diadema, a city in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 3,720 feet above sea level to 36,502 feet, an increase of 32,782 feet, in 18 minutes and covering a distance of 86 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 1 mile southwest of Santa Gertrudes, another city in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This phase lasted for 37 minutes and covered a distance of 286 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 6 miles east of Caldas Novas, a city in Goias, Brazil. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 36,350 feet to 3,738 feet, a decrease of 32,612 feet, in 19 minutes and covering a distance of 83 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its final approach to runway 14 at SBGO Santa Genoveva Airport, coming in from the northwest at a heading of 120.0 degrees. The aircraft was at an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the runway. The local weather conditions at this point were similar to those encountered during takeoff, with a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and winds blowing at 7 knots from a direction of 90 degrees.
The aircraft landed safely on runway 14, with a touchdown distance of 177 meters, which was 61% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was 134 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -392 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.0 meters. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, which took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 463 nautical miles and used 3,155 kilograms of fuel. The flight duration was 86 minutes.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft successfully landed at SBGO Santa Genoveva Airport, achieving a high score of 97.1%. The final approach to runway 14 was conducted from the northwest, with a heading of 120.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft's performance during the landing was impressive, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 137 knots. The touchdown distance was also within acceptable limits at 177 meters, and the touchdown speed of 134 knots was well within the recommended range. The touchdown rate of -392 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, indicating a controlled descent.
However, there was a slight deviation in the runway touchdown position, with the aircraft touching down 4.0 meters off-centerline. This minor misalignment may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error, but it did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 28°C and a wind speed of 7 knots at 90°. The crosswind component was relatively low at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 6 knots. These conditions would have made the landing slightly more challenging, but the aircraft's performance was still impressive.
The total landing distance of 1,326 meters was 61% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively.
Overall, the Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft demonstrated excellent performance during the landing at SBGO Santa Genoveva Airport, achieving a high score of 97.1%. The minor deviations in the touchdown position and landing distance were not significant enough to impact the overall performance of the landing.
