Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 1,177 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,177 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 65 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 28 at N94 Carlisle, where the Cessna Skyhawk took off with a takeoff distance of 284 meters, which accounted for 24% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 56 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot at 269 degrees.
As the aircraft entered the left-hand pattern, it did so from runway 28 at N94 Carlisle, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile in just 11 seconds. The subsequent left-hand pattern crosswind leg was completed in 23 seconds, with the aircraft covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The pattern downwind turn was executed with a distance of 1 nautical mile, and the angle to the runway was 96.8 degrees. The downwind leg itself covered a distance of 2 nautical miles in 48 seconds.
The pattern base leg turn was completed with a distance of 3 nautical miles, and the angle to the runway was 41.2 degrees. The base leg itself covered a distance of 1 nautical mile in 47 seconds. The final turn was executed in less than 1 nautical mile in 43 seconds, and the aircraft then began its final approach to runway 28 at N94 Carlisle from the east, heading 275.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and 586 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 28 at N94 Carlisle was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 46 knots and a distance of 62 meters. The touchdown rate was excellent at -81 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions remained the same, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot at 270 degrees.
The total landing distance was 164 meters, which accounted for 14% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. The total flight distance was 8 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 6 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 3 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna Skyhawk successfully landed at N94 Carlisle, achieving a score of 99.9%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the east, heading 275.0° at 1 nautical mile and 586 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, aligning perfectly with the runway threshold.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly below the target threshold speed of 50 knots, registering at 46 knots. This indicates a controlled descent and a smooth landing. The touchdown distance of 62 meters was also within acceptable limits, demonstrating the pilot's skill in managing the aircraft's speed and altitude.
The landing rate was particularly impressive, with a rate of -81 feet per minute (fpm). This is an excellent result, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft down to the runway surface with minimal loss of altitude. The runway touchdown alignment was also perfect, suggesting that the pilot had a clear visual reference to the runway and was able to maintain a steady course.
The local weather conditions were favorable for the landing, with a temperature of 15°C and a gentle headwind of 1 knot from 270°. There was no crosswind component, which made the landing even more straightforward. The total landing distance of 164 meters was just 14% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and efficiently.
Finally, the runway rollout alignment was perfect, suggesting that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft even after touchdown. Overall, this landing was a testament to the pilot's skill and experience, and the Cessna Skyhawk's performance in a variety of conditions.
