Keep the taxi smooth
Turn speed is limited by lateral load on the tyres and the people in the back, and lateral acceleration goes with the square of speed. On an illustrative 25 m turn radius, 10 kt produces about 0.11 g of side load, while 20 kt produces about 0.43 g. Doubling the speed quadruples the load. That square law is the entire content of the "10 knots in turns" rule, and it tells you why a slightly-too-fast turn feels fine and a moderately-too-fast one throws the cabin crew across the galley.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,860 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,860 m of the 3,005 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 425 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the F-35C Lightning taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LOXZ Hinterstoisser Air Base, a process that took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 26L, with a takeoff distance of 1,304 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 211 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 22°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 270°. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 6 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile east of Fohnsdorf in Steiermark, Austria, and the aircraft climbed from 3,311 feet above sea level to 39,953 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,642 feet in 8 minutes, covering a distance of 57 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began overhead Niederneukirchen in Oberoesterreich, Austria, and lasted for 38 minutes, covering a distance of 353 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 1 mile west of Krembz in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, and the aircraft descended from 39,952 feet above sea level to 1,613 feet above sea level, a decrease of 38,339 feet in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 109 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 28R at EKSP Skrydstrup Air Base was made from the east, heading 285.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,454 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 28R, which had a length of 3,005 meters, was successful, with a good threshold height. The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 155 knots, and the touchdown distance was good at 300 meters. The touchdown speed was 134 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was firm at -354 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.0 meters from the centreline, but the runway rollout alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 19°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 270°, with a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 6 knots. The total landing distance was 1,708 meters, which accounted for 57% of the runway.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 525 nautical miles, taking 67 minutes, and used 4,538 kilograms of fuel.
The F-35C Lightning aircraft successfully landed at EKSP Skrydstrup Air Base, achieving a score of 94.7%. The final approach to runway 28R was conducted from the east, heading 285.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,454 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 155 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, the touchdown distance of 300 meters was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 134 knots was also within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -354 feet per minute was firm, indicating a controlled descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 7.0 meters, which may require some adjustments during future landings. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 19°C and a gentle headwind of 6 knots from a direction of 270°. The crosswind was minimal at 2 knots, which contributed to a smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 1,708 meters was 57% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the landing roll and was able to align with the runway centreline.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down safely and the pilot demonstrating good control during the landing roll. However, the slight misalignment of the touchdown position and the slightly below-target threshold speed may require some adjustments during future landings.
