Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,805 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,805 m of the 3,193 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 623 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Cessna Skyhawk took off from runway 28 at RK25 N 225 Heliport - Tongjin Airfield, covering a takeoff distance of 372 meters, which was 96% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 51 knots. At the time of takeoff, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 16°C, with a wind speed of 1 knot at 269°, resulting in a negligible crosswind and a slight headwind.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb overhead RK25 N 225 Heliport - Tongjin Airfield, Wolgot-myeon, in Incheon, South Korea. The climb began at an altitude of 149 feet above sea level and reached 1,560 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,411 feet, in just 3 minutes. During this time, the aircraft covered a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 3 miles southeast of RK0K R 107 R 107 in Incheon, South Korea, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. Following the cruise, the aircraft began its final approach to runway 14R at RKSS Gimpo International Airport, approaching from the northwest at a heading of 135.0° and at an altitude of 1,196 feet above ground level, 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 14R at RKSS Gimpo International Airport was executed with a runway length of 3,193 meters. The threshold height at 110 feet above ground level was found to be excessively over the target, while the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 65 knots. The touchdown point was 152 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 42 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was also good at -154 feet per minute.
The total landing distance was 2,669 meters, which was 84% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was found to be misaligned by 24.0 meters from the centerline. The total flight distance was 15 nautical miles, taking 12 minutes to complete, and the aircraft used 4 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna Skyhawk aircraft successfully landed at RKSS Gimpo International Airport, but with some notable deviations from the ideal landing parameters. The final approach was initiated from the northwest, heading 135.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,196 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 14R, which has a length of 3,193 meters.
Upon analysis, it was found that the threshold height at 110 feet agl was excessively over the target, indicating that the aircraft descended more slowly than expected during the final approach. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 65 knots, suggesting that the aircraft was moving at a suitable speed as it approached the runway. The touchdown point was 152 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a deviation from the ideal landing spot.
The touchdown speed of 42 knots was good, indicating that the aircraft was able to slow down effectively during the landing process. The touchdown rate of -154 feet per minute (fpm) was also good, suggesting that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of touchdown smoothly. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.6 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind and tailwind components were both 1 knot, which is minimal and unlikely to have had a significant impact on the landing. The total landing distance was 2,669 meters, which is 84% of the runway length. This suggests that the aircraft was able to stop safely within the available runway length.
Finally, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 24.0 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the rollout phase. Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some notable deviations from the ideal landing parameters that may require attention in future training or operations.
