Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 1,177 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,177 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 50 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 28 at N94 Carlisle, where the Cessna Skyhawk took off with a takeoff distance of 239 meters, which accounted for 20% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 56 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 1 knot at 269 degrees.
As the aircraft entered the left-hand pattern, it did so from runway 28, with the distance covered being less than 1 nautical mile in just 15 seconds. The subsequent left-hand pattern crosswind leg was completed in under 1 nautical mile in 23 seconds. The pattern downwind turn was executed at an angle of 94.8 degrees to the runway, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile.
The downwind leg itself was 1 nautical mile long and took 124 seconds to complete. The final approach to runway 28 was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 272.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and 392 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 28 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 48 meters and a speed of 45 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -147 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were similar to those at takeoff, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 1 knot at 270 degrees. The total flight distance was 4 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 5 minutes. The aircraft used 2 kilograms of fuel during the flight. Overall, the flight was executed smoothly, with good control and precision throughout.
The Cessna Skyhawk has successfully landed at N94 Carlisle, achieving a score of 95.9%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the east, heading 272.0° at a distance of 1 nautical mile and an altitude of 392 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach to runway 28, taking into account the runway's length of 1,177 meters.
Upon reaching the threshold, the pilot maintained a speed of 48 knots, which was well below the target speed. This was a prudent decision, as it helped to prevent stalling and ensured a smooth landing. The touchdown distance of 48 meters was also satisfactory, indicating that the pilot had maintained control of the aircraft throughout the descent.
The touchdown speed of 45 knots was within the acceptable range, and the rate of descent was smooth at -147 feet per minute (fpm). This suggests that the pilot had carefully managed the aircraft's altitude and airspeed to achieve a stable and controlled touchdown. The runway touchdown alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot had maintained the aircraft's heading and alignment with the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a light wind of 1 knot from 270°. There was no crosswind, and the aircraft was able to land with a headwind of 1 knot. Overall, the pilot's performance was excellent, and the landing was executed with precision and control.
