Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 6,089 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,089 ft of the 11,205 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,329 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.

Landing on runway 06 was achieved with a runway length of 11,205 ft; the threshold speed was 143 kt. Touchdown occurred 977 ft beyond the touchdown zone at 138 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 238 fpm and perfect runway alignment. Local weather reported a temperature of 100 °F, wind 3 kt from 112°, a 2 kt crosswind and a 2 kt headwind. Total landing distance was 5,837 ft, representing 52 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was very good.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 5 minutes, covering 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 3,526 nm, lasted 448 minutes, and consumed 100,104 lb of fuel.
The Airbus A350-900 entered the final approach to runway 06 at DNKN Mallam Aminu International Airport from the south-west on a heading of 59.0° at 4 nm and 1,466 ft agl; the approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
At threshold the height was good and the threshold speed was good at 143 kt; the aircraft touched down 977 ft beyond the touchdown zone with a touchdown speed of 138 kt, noted as a little fast, and a touchdown rate described as fair at minus 238 fpm, while runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The landing was completed on runway 06, whose length is 11,205 ft, and the total landing distance recorded was 5,837 ft, representing 52 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was very good.
Maintain the target touchdown speed closer to the calculated VREF and refine the flare to achieve a slightly lower sink rate, which will further reduce the landing distance and improve overall efficiency.
